Heavy Metal Parking Lot? is one of the greatest relics of metals heyday in the mid-1980s. The concept of this wildly entertaining documentary? is simple. Two dudes (Jeff Krulik and John Heyn) with no budget and a video camera troll the parking lot of the Capitol Centre in suburban Maryland before a 1986 Judas Priest concert.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, in the world of album cover art flattery occurs more often than you would think. Oftentimes its manifested as parody. In other instances, the imitations are paying homage to the original artist.
Soul Asylum (Clam Dip and Other Delights, 1988): The Minneapolis quartet swap hot model with bassist Karl Mueller and whipped cream with clam dip in a take off of Herb Alpert’s Whipped Cream and Other Delights. Mmmmm, tasty!
