Guitarist collapses at Rockin’ the Riverfront concert
Sunday, August 17th, 2008The free Rockin’ the Riverfront concert hit a scary note Friday evening when one of the guitarists for opening band Spitting Nickels collapsed on stage mid-way through the group’s set. According to the band’s website, the guitarist’s name is Tom Gunne. The band was opening up for classic rock headliners Blue Oyster Cult.
Medics and police jumped on stage immediately and began administering first aid. A woman in the front row asked for everyone's prayers. The members of the large crowd was quiet and polite — aside from a few shouts of encouraging words…
