You never know where you are gonna find a political scoop, but Lynn Zinser at her NYT hockey “Slapshot” blog just posted that Sarah Palin, in her much-ballyhooed appearance dropping the puck at the Philly Flyers’ opener, was greeted by “resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd.”
Are you thick, jones? That long, droning hum of “boooooooooooooo…..” is obvious to anyone who has ever been to any sporting event. Not even the music that was turned up even louder once the booing started could drown them out…

The 17-year-old “Idol” runner-up has signed a deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records, according to a Tuesday post on the Web site of the label managed by “Idol” creator Simon Fuller.
David Cook, 25, a former bartender from Blue Springs, Missouri, won the "American Idol" title when the sixth season of Fox's top-rated singing competition wrapped up May 21. The title comes with a recording contract….

Warner Music, fully aware that the days of charging for recorded music are coming to an end, is now pushing for a music tax.The goal? $5 per month from everyone, or fees of $20 billion per year. Thats double the current size of the recorded music industry ($10 billion).
Michael, I have said this before and I’ll say it again: you don’t get the music thing, and it would be great if you devoted a bit more time to this issue before you call it a protection racket. While I am totally with you on…
